Wayne Alford and Charlie Trewin-Smart from SEMZ were honored to attend the 2025 Hester Hornbrook Academy Graduation Ceremony, held at the RACV Club in Melbourne.

Hester Hornbrook Academy – ‘School, only different’, provides flexible, trauma-informed learning environments for students who have previously disengaged from mainstream education. Many of this year’s graduates had experienced disrupted schooling, prolonged non-attendance during the COVID years, or challenges that made re-entry into traditional schooling settings extremely difficult.

Graduation brought together students from all Hester Hornbrook Academy campuses, a powerful, collective milestone for a community that works tirelessly to support young people. Seeing these students cross the stage was a reminder of what is possible when education meets young people where they are, and when schools are designed with flexibility, compassion and structure in equal measure.

SEMZ is privileged to support Hester Hornbrook Academy in creating the environments where dreams can grow. Our team has delivered campuses in Werribee and Melbourne CBD that provide the safety, support and practical flexibility required for young people to thrive and we are excited to be delivering the next two Hester Hornbrook Academy campuses in Geelong (2027) and Dandenong (2028).

As a team that has helped deliver many, many schools across Australia, events like this hold a special meaning. We are always proud of our role in shaping educational environments, but there is something uniquely powerful about seeing these young people find their path again.

These graduates remind us why this work matters.
They remind us why considered, student-centred facilities matter.
And they remind us why creating opportunities for young people is one of the most important contributions we can make as a community.

Congratulations to the 2025 Hester Hornbrook Academy graduates.

SEMZ is proud to continue supporting HHA, and proud to help create the environments where young people can reconnect, belong, and achieve the bright futures they dream of and deserve.
