Appointed as Project Manager and Superintendent, the SEMZ team are proud to be working with the Victorian School Board Association (VSBA) to achieve the State’s vision of creating an Educational precinct in the Wonthaggi Township.

Designed by Clarke Hopkins Clarke Architects and built by SJ Higgins, construction of Wonthaggi Secondary College’s new $32.7m Senior Campus is well under way. The brand-new school campus is located in outer Wonthaggi on a large undulating site allowing the  incorporation of extensive sporting facilities.

A joint venture between the Department of Education and Bass Coast Shire Council, the new facility will accommodate 650 students from Wonthaggi Secondary College and Community Sporting Groups.  Facilities include a two-story learning community building and single level games hall building.  Plans also include a wetland learning environment, onsite parking and sports fields. Benefiting from local Government partnerships and a Shared Facilities Grant, the games hall will include three competition grade basketball courts to be shared with local sporting groups, thus engendering stronger connections with the wider Wonthaggi community.

Despite wet weather over recent months, construction is on program with The Education Minister, Hon James Merlino announcing last week that Wonthaggi Secondary College is on track for completion in time for term 1 of the 2020 school year.
