Since 2015, SEMZ have partnered with Uniting, volunteering our time and support to help make a tangible difference to those in need within our local and surrounding communities.
Throughout the year, SEMZ staff are offered the opportunity to get involved, volunteering their time during the working day to support the efforts of Uniting’s ‘Food for Families’ appeal.
Earlier this year, we spent time at the Uniting Church Footscray Outreach centre. Assisting with the sorting and packing of donated supplies, part of the SEMZ team witnessed the generosity of Melbourne businesses, schools and individuals with tonnes of donated food and household items on hand to provide relief.
Others felt privileged and humbled to experience first-hand the gratitude of those receiving supplies and support as they were welcomed to the centre to fill shopping bags or seek assistance with financial needs or accessing community and Government support.
