Whilst it hasn’t been a traditional start, Sarah has settled in well with a seamless onboarding process, despite the unusual circumstances of this COVID-19 and isolation phase. Talking with Sarah last week about her commencement at SEMZ, she was candid about her trepidation in starting a new role under strict social distancing criteria. ‘To be honest, I was feeling nervous about how the first few weeks would unfold – being new and not knowing the people and systems at SEMZ and knowing it would likely be months before I would actually meet them. I’ve been really pleased with how seamless the process has been. The people (SEMZ Team) have been really helpful and available online and via phone and I’ve found the systems and files easy to locate and navigate.’
Reflecting on her decision to join SEMZ, Sarah was drawn to the varied diversity of projects. ‘I was impressed by the quality, quantity and variety of projects. Being a Boutique organisation with this depth of projects provides an opportunity to work across a number of projects and sectors, sharing information and experience with the wider team.’ Organisational structure and culture was also a driving factor for Sarah. ‘Culture is important to me. Joining such a tight knit team with a clear focus on an inclusive culture with regular formal and informal knowledge sharing was definitely key in my decision to join SEMZ.’
Jon Purcell – SEMZ Director is excited to have Sarah on board, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team. ‘While it’s not quite business as usual anywhere in the world right now, the construction industry has maintained momentum. At SEMZ, the transition to remote working has been embraced by the team. As we look to the next stage of this global economic event, with a boost to construction and infrastructure forecast, we are committed to resourcing our team with elite talent, to provide the highest level of service in all aspects of our property advisory, development management and project management service sectors.’
