The SEMZ team recently joined students and staff onsite at Footscray High School – Kinnear Campus to celebrate construction being underway on this significant project.
As Project Manager and Superintendent on this extensive upgrade and modernisation project, it was hugely fulfilling for the SEMZ team to witness the excitement and pride of students and stake holders in launching this project.
Alongside representatives from the VSBA, Arete Australia and Cottee Parker Architects, we enjoyed a tour of the construction site and ceremony to formally begin construction.
Minister for Education Natalie Hutchins and local Member for Footscray Katie Hall shared their pride and joy in seeing this significant project underway.
Minister Natalie Hutchins spoke of her passion for equality in education and the quality and opportunity in Victorian public education. She praised the school’s ability to launch this project – decanting classrooms and preparing for construction, whilst running a live school without disruptions to teaching and learning.
Due for completion in late 2024, the project will upgrade and modernise the main block of the Footscray High School Kinnear Campus.
