SEMZ congratulates Project Manager Rebecca Davies on her outstanding achievement, recognition and exceptional contribution to Futsal in Victoria.
Bec is a talented Futsal player, AFC qualified coach (U15 and U17 girls Football Victoria State Team coach) and founder of the Championship winning Melbourne Evolution Futsal Club.
In 2021, frustrated by lack of opportunity in the Melbourne Futsal scene, Bec was motivated to provide opportunity and pathways for girls and women in futsal, with the same elite level of coaching and programs offered to boys. Bec founded@Melbourne Evolution Futsal Club, the first all-female Futsal club with a much needed Female Junior Academy with pathways through to the Senior Women’s Program.
In just three short seasons Melbourne Evolution Senior Women’s Team has achieved the ultimate goal, winning the Series Futsal Victoria Championship, Manager of the Season and MVP. Bec’s contribution to the season was also recognised with the Best & Fairest award.
Next month, Bec will head to Brazil to represent Australia in the Freelance Futsal team at ‘Copa Mundo Do Futsal’ where she will play against teams from Russia, Columbia, Brazil, Argentina, USA, Uruguay, Canada, Paraguay and Kuwait.
