SEMZ was engaged by Peninsula Health, the major public health service for Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula, and a significant landowner and lessor, to develop a Property Asset Management Strategy that:
- critically assessed the strategic value, capacity, and capability of its existing properties to respond to opportunities and accommodate forecast growth in the immediate, short, medium and long-term
- enabled optimal alignment between Peninsula Health’s use of property with its broader strategic and clinical planning needs and priorities, including its Model of Care and related Service Plans, and their associated clinical risk, safety and workplace requirements, and interdependencies.
Working closely with Hayball Architects, SEMZ conducted and concluded upon comprehensive portfolio and market analysis, site capacity testing and development options advice, culminating in a Board-approved strategy report that will aid decision-making and guide the direction, composition and management of Peninsula Health’s property portfolio for the next 15-25 years.
In his capacity as Project Director, SEMZ Principal Allan Titterton worked extensively with Hayball and the team at Peninsula Health to deliver the project. Describing the experience in collaborating and working on this project, Allan is energised by the significant impact of property advisory services on the immediate and long term opportunity for Peninsula Health;
“Delivering projects in the health sector is always hugely fulfilling. The public value and benefits are clear and immediate – so to work with a great project team and client on a project of such significance for such a large area of Victoria has been particularly gratifying.
Optimally aligning property use with broader organisational strategies and objectives has never been more important, particularly in the health sector, where resources and capital are often constrained but demand for services (and, by extension, accommodation) continues to grow at a rapid rate.”
“It’s an area of property advisory that we specialise in, because we can leverage our property, development and commercial skillsets with our strong experience and understanding of strategy in the corporate, public, private and not-for-profit sectors”.
With many important strategic initiatives and projects in planning or already underway, we look forward to advising and assisting Peninsula Health to optimise their Health Services in the region.
