At SEMZ, we’re proud of the physical legacy of the projects we deliver. This is especially true of our work within the education sector where we truly are building the future. We value the relationships SEMZ has fostered with Education providers and Government bodies including the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA), Bendigo Kangan Institute and Chisholm Institute, to deliver numerous Primary and Secondary School, Early Learning and TAFE facilities throughout Melbourne and Victoria.
By partnering with these organisations, consulting with schools and communities and working with skilled and experienced architects and contractors to deliver state of the art educational facilities, we relish the opportunity to improve the education experience for our children and future generations.
With the significant $3.8b allocation of State Government funds invested in education, the School Infrastructure boom is part of the Victorian Government’s commitment to making Victoria the Education State. The VSBA plans to build 70 new schools, focusing on growth areas throughout Victoria, while delivering over 1300 upgrades to existing schools. As Project Manager, Superintendent and Program reviewer working across a number of education projects, we’re playing a role in the creation of exciting new learning environments that link pedagogy with architect designed learning spaces.
Incorporating Shared Facilities Funds further enables the opportunity to enrich local communities, bringing people together and building pride in Government schools. As Project Manager and Superintendent for the $32.5m relocated Wonthaggi Secondary College, we have the privilege of liaising with local government and community in delivering the State Government funded shared facility sports stadium within the grounds of the school.
SEMZ understands the unique constraints of completion timelines influenced by term dates, the importance of incorporating community and staff input and complexities of working alongside a live school environment. We have found that experience is key to project success within the education sector.
