Malcolm Speed is widely regarded as one of Australia’s leading Sports Administrators. He has had a long and varied career as a barrister, sports administrator, and company director. He was CEO of Cricket Australia (1997-2001) and the International Cricket Council (2001-2008) as well as holding senior positions in basketball during the 80’s and 90’s and in 2012 was inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame. His recent board roles include Victorian Major Events Company, Golf Australia and Cycling Australia.
Malcolm is now occupied in a range of sport-related roles as a university lecturer, consultant, and company director where his appointments include, Sports Environment Alliance, Richmond Football Club and the Coalition of Major Professional and Participation Sports.
In 2015 Malcolm was inducted as an Officer of the Order of Australia.
